She grasped the corner of the bag and reached inside, pulling out a French braided loaf of bread. She smiled at Aiden briefly and went to put her find away. He watched intently. He was interested at how normal people did things. How they existed. She returned to the bag and removed multiple cans of soup. One on top of the pyramid in her arms teetered and fell- but it never hit the floor. Aiden had caught it in mid-air and returned it to her arms.
“You are quick.” She noted with a tilt of her head. She didn’t dwell on it though, as she continued to her cupboards. Aiden called it a close one. He knew he shouldn’t have done it. His movements were fast if no one was around, but at that moment, the can was falling, and he didn’t want it to hit the floor. His instincts kicked in.
“You don’t know why you are here Aiden?” She turned and asked, leaning against the counter.
He gulped, he felt like he was on the spot suddenly, like she knew something. “I just… found myself here.” Aiden didn’t know what to say. He really shouldn’t have even gone close to her apartment again. Not in the state he found himself in. On the verge of breaking down without feeding. He knew he would have to find a fix sooner than later, and he did not like the situation he had gotten himself into.
“Oui… well, would you like anything?” She was done with the groceries and was looking intently at him.
Aiden needed to find a cover, “I just wanted to see you.” He smiled without showing his teeth. “Would you like to go out… I’m new here… could you show me around?”
Rie smiled at him kindly, “Bon, oui! I would love to.”
“Really? Okay..” He was actually surprised, and now regretted his questions and actions even more. All she needed to do was show him someplace without anyone else nearby and he could kill her. Would he kill her?
Could you? No. I think you can. She’s just some human. Remember how annoying she was. She was making conversation. And you didn’t like it. I freaking spent the night with her… I can’t kill her. You’d have to do something about that roommate. Precisely. You better watch yourself then…
“Where would you like to go?” Rie asked curiously, obviously noticing how Aiden had disappeared in his own mind.
“Uhm, the tower. Yes.. The Eiffel Tower.” Good. There are always a lot of people there. Stay in public and don’t do anything… stupid.
“Oui, the tourists first thought when entering France. There is much more though.. Notre Dame Cathedral… it is nice as well.”
“Sure, that too.” Aiden smiled nervously and shoved a hand in his pocket. He noticed now that he was still wearing the same clothing. “Uhm, this might be a bit odd… but uh… can I use your bathroom… I haven’t been anywhere that I can-“
She laughed lightly, “Oui, yes, go ahead. To the left there.” She pointed smiling at him.
“Thanks…” Aiden looked away sheepishly and headed to the bathroom, his pack still in tow.
Once behind a locked door he stripped down, shoving his clothing, jacket and all, back in his pack and jumped in the shower. He was in and out in a record amount of time, figuring the UK Armed Forces would be proud. Aiden shrugged himself into a long-sleeved black shirt with Burton written in bold white letters across the chest, though whatever company Burton was, Aiden wouldn’t know. He then pulled on some grey jeans making sure to keep them up by installing a belt as well. Aiden’s dark hair remained damp after only one attempt at towel drying it, hanging his face but it didn’t bother him, he never even looked in the mirror. Aiden emerged from the room with a time result of 12 minutes. Cautiously and still with a sheepish expression Aiden entered the kitchen peering about for Rie but she was nowhere to be seen.
Aiden set his backpack down on a chair and slowly walked into the next room, which would be considered a living space. It lacked a TV, but there were many bookshelves, a CD rack, two couches, a couple tables, one of them holding an impressive stereo system. Rie was still missing, but Aiden found himself looking at the collection of CD’s. Most were French artists he had no clue about, but he actually found a couple he knew as well. Suddenly there was a noise from the kitchen and Aiden spun around so quickly it would have appeared that he never even moved. He weighed the possibilities, either it was Rie in there, which was most ethical, or perhaps even her roommate, which would be normal as well… his options were, however, to let the person walk in on him in the den, or he could walk in on them. Of course he didn’t want to be found snooping, Aiden therefore slowly walked into the kitchen, hoping it was Rie just for the sake of knowing her better.

Ha ha. Nice. I think it's really interesting how one has preconceived notions about vampires, but then automatically embraces Stephanie Meyers' version of things. Not to say you are writing like her or anything of that sort, but am I the only one who suddenly thinks of Aiden as shockingly pale and purdy now? Hmm. Well, maybe I'm just impressionable. I like it.
